While mineral collecting and gathering ideas for future watercolor paintings
in southern Nevada, I happened upon a herd of wild horses. It was amazing that
they allowed me to walk among them without stampeding. I have now been following
this herd and two others for nine years. Nevada's wild horse population
numbers greater than 27,000.
